Compatible applications
- Automotive A/C — Cars, trucks and fleet vehicles built before the R-1234yf transition.
- Medium-temp refrigeration — Coolers, prep tables and beverage equipment.
- Centrifugal chillers — Comfort-cooling chillers designed around R-134a.
Before you order
Mobile A/C service falls under EPA Section 609, a separate credential from the Section 608 certification used for stationary equipment. We accept either — the system you are servicing determines which one applies.
Use PAG oil in mobile systems and POE in stationary ones. Mixing the two causes compressor failures that look like a refrigerant problem but are not.
Safe handling
- Verify the equipment nameplate specifies R-134a and note the approved charge before connecting.
- This system requires PAG (mobile A/C) · POE (stationary). Mixing incompatible lubricants causes compressor failure.
- As a pure compound this refrigerant will not fractionate, so vapour top-up is acceptable.
- Use gauges, hoses and recovery equipment rated for this refrigerant’s operating pressures.
- Store upright and secured, in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from heat, sparks and open flame.
- Recover refrigerant — knowingly venting is a violation of Clean Air Act Section 608.
Shipping
Free FedEx Ground on every cylinder within the contiguous United States, typically 2–5 business days after pickup. Ground service only — compressed refrigerant does not travel by air. We cannot deliver to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii or US territories. A signature is required.
Professional service use only. Section 609 certification required for motor-vehicle A/C service. EPA Section 609 or Section 608 certification is verified before this order is dispatched.
